    Greg Holland signing. Archived Message

He doesnt throw a hundred miles an hour anymore, but hes still a pretty damn good pitcher. The Cardinals sign Holland for a 14 million dollar one year deal, and they probably had to wait as long as they did to acquire his services for that price. The bullpen looks pretty damn good, but the starting pitching isnt going to scare anybody. They seem to be betting that the starting pitching will hold up, i just dont see it. I think the starters are better than the Brewers starters, but not even close to as good as the Cubs. It will probably take 90 wins to make the playoffs even as a Wild Card. Can this team win 90 games, maybe, maybe not. I see them struggling to stay ahead of Milwaukee and both of those teams at least 6 games behind the Cubs.
I think Holland is a nice addition, but they would have been better served getting Cobb to start. The hitting will be good, and the defense will probably be better than last year.
