The Village of Pontoon Beach had an old camper on their lot several weeks ago. I called Mike Pagano and asked him about it and he gave me this account.
Apparently 2 of these campers, former FEMA trailers, were bought by Charlie and Jim Denham out of the drug money fund after Katrina, without the knowledge or consent of the village board. One is now behind Nameoki Township and is used as the smoking room for the employees.
The one that was in the parking lot had been "loaned" to Granite City as an office building at their yard waste lot. It was trashed, but was located by Mike and sold by the village.
My point here is Charlie and Denham's illegal accessing of the drug fund money without the knowledge of their village board. Big no-no, but Jim Denham and Charlie did a lot of writing their own rules back in the day, it's how they rolled.
Sounds similar to our present General Assistance fund situation, though, of which Charlie is also complicit.
Leopards don't change their spots. They might be sent by their keepers to a new zoo, though...
