You bet. Problem is, especially in St. Louis, every little crime associated with "undesirable areas" are reported, while crimes in the "desirable area" are kept hush hush by local media. I know this for a fact. A friend of mine who owns a prosperous business in Webster Groves and was even asked by the WG Chamber of Commerce to run for mayor told me that crime is just as bad in even some of the best St. Louis suburbs as it is in the city...it's kept hush hush. A couple years back a friend of mine that worked at a BP gas/food station told me of an incident where two drug addicts attacked that station, one seriously injured one employee by beating him with a tire tool. This was in one of St. Louis's "most desirable suburbs". Never saw this on the news. And there's a couple I know that moved over 100 miles out from St. Louis to escape crime because they'd been robbed. Guess what? They went away on vacation, and when they returned to their new house it had been robbed...stripped of everything...even the furniture. People, you just have to use common sense. No where is "safe", especially if you brag or show off in public.
