I have a nice digital camera and another on my cell phone. Two words describe this arrangement: Highway robbery.
"A project to refresh the city’s website accelerated into high gear at the Oct. 4 city council meeting.
The council approved a resolution for Granite City-based Waters Photography to provide 10 to 20 photographs for $1,500, payable upon completion of the project no later than Oct. 31. The resolution states the photos will depict “local events and sites illustrating the vibrancy of the community.”"
Photographs at this time of year does not make sense, no beautiful pictures of the gardens at the park, no kid's ball at the park, among other great things. And there are not many events scheduled other than the Santa parade so I'm not sure what other events might be featured.
$1500 for something that could have been done for free. Fiscally sound spending of the taxpayers' hard earned money is clearly not a concern for anyone involved in this decision. Mr. Bradley Waters, who is he connected to?
