"Does she even know there are other areas?" Absolutely I do! But I wasn't elected to represent those areas I was elected to represent Ward 1, which also includes downtown. The other areas have their own aldermen That's why the city is divided into wards.
But that technically is not correct. Yes, aldermen are elected by their ward but you and others vote on approving street work for example in all wards, not just yours. You all approve expenditures that take place in other wards. If I have problems with my street, a neighbors home, etc.... I would indeed call one of my aldermen. (Not that it would do any good at all)

As I've said many times on here if we are going to be critical of our officials we can step up to the plate and run ourselves. Mrs. O. has frequented your restaurant with friends and gives it high praise.
Good luck on your newest ventures. I'm pleased to hear that you won't challenge Ed for the job because I happen to like what he has done.
