Even if GC citizens think it's not bad down town, you have to consider what out of towers see as they come into town. Tall grass, like 5 ft. tall, high grass all along 203,graffiti in your face as you come off of 270, no pavement markings, concrete medians look terrible, grass growing up in between the concrete. Property where thistle grows all around, The intersection in town with Gitchos, the old ponderosa, now who knows what, maybe an extension of the car lot which does nothing but make GC look unkempt, the ridiculous lack of a side walk in front of Coolidge, it's basically rocks, and the list goes on and on. You would have to have family here, or know someone from here to be able to make that area popular to anyone besides GC folks. Most of my clients are afraid to come into our town. The unlicensed advertising benches take the cake as far as I'm concerned. Don't see this crap in Collinsville, Edwardsville, or Belleville. Way to go GC. By the way, all of the aforementioned towns are growing. Time to take action GC citizens
