This is nothing new, and is one of those things that the public becomes so accustomed to that they rarely question it.

Look at the names at the MESD:

Bob Shipley (also Granite City Township Supervisor)

Andy Economy (also Venice Township Supervisor who has hired his wife and was confronted about it by Elliot Davis. Andy's response? Everyone does it. And he's got the port district gig, going on too, not to mention his contract with local cities to tow, regadless of the circumstances, all vehicles involved in a car accident that require towing. Talk about some major storage fees. OK Andy greedy much?)

Kenny Davis (former Nameoki Township Supervisor, he hired his wife at the township and she is now raking in a nice pension once they both retired..even though she refused to administer from the General Assistance Fund because "she didn't like poor people". Kenny also retired from MESD and is collecting a pension from there in addition to his pension from the township...but that still isn't enough, so they hired him back...now he gets a salary in addition to his MESD pension for being the treasurer.)

Bill Hanfelder (also all kinds of things I won't type because I'm a lady, but most recently father of Nameoki Township Assessor and former Nameoki Township Highway employee who held both jobs for a while)

Frank Laub (OMG, what job hasn't he earned a government pension for? And his wife is Darlene Laub, Granite City Township Assessor. His son in law is Joe Juneau, you all know that name, right? And his grandson was and might still be working for MESD)

Randy Presswood, form Nameoki Township inspector is also empoyed by MESD.

I'll just stop the list there.

The public's memory is very short. Does anyone remember when Shipley was called out for his daughter driving this MESD vehicle? I think it was discussed in this board. What a perk on the taxpayer's dime. Nice vehicle, free gas and insurance all to provide transporation for not only you on your personal time, but for your kids too.

Bob Shipley needs to look into driving lessons, and Andy Economy needs to hand off his township to some new blood, he's gotten rich enough.

Amazing how all these names are, in turn, tied to Alan Dunstan.

I think Randy Viessman may have a connection to MESD too, but I might be mistaken because I can't recall what it is.

This is just the tip of the neoptism and unscrupulous iceberg.

Yet, they are elected year in and year out.
