I want to see the names and information to back this up as well. Think about it. I've not know school boards (or any other elected board) to give a higher percent raise to the bosses than they did the rank and file.
My guess is most of this is due to replacing administrators with their successors who come from the rank and file members. Those people would naturally, as bosses, get some type of raise and I would bet it would exceed six per cent. I wouldn't take a bosses job anywhere if my staff made within six per cent of what I did.
So in that case, the board hires someone to fill an exiting admin position. The new hire should, and better, make less than the person he replaces. Then they hire a new rank and file person to replace the promoted person. That should translate a savings.
Case in point, a few years ago Paul Ray Bowler left the district. His assistant was moved into his position. A current teacher was moved into her job and yes if memory serves that was the wife of a board member.
If this happened 29 times, I would love to hear the explanations of why that many people were promoted and how much each got. I'm sure the BND will do a follow up to this.
