I personally did not have a problem having taxes raised a little to keep all school activities and sports going. But did the GC government have any idea of us steels announcement before hand. Maybe there was no funny business I don't know that either. I think it's a no brainer that tax increase would have passed but then that announcement came and pretty much killed that tax increase passing. How many votes were swayed to the no side I don't know. But just have a funny feeling somebody on the inside did not want that tax increase passing. Whether from GC gov or us steel brass. I think more is coming from us steel. That 80 people that the news said did not include the layoffs that happened before this all started and did it include the management people that were let go recently. All they really said is their staying open but to what capacity is yet to be seen. Still a lot of people I know who work at the mill that are still unsure and worried about their jobs. Hope they can keep all but know if us steel wants to stay profitable they are going to have to cut more operating costs
