Your audience here is not so huge HC. I think the thing Clancy is trying to drive home and what I have argued before is this, If you don't like what's going on, why don't you do something about it? If the referendum fails, Mr. Greenwald is still going to be the CEO of the district and he will still be making his salary. If the referendum fails, teachers will still make the money they do. They'll just have more kids in their classrooms. Not all that big of a deal to many of them. If the referendum fails, the district will borrow more money to pay the bills. You'll still pay that debt in a tax increase. It's called a back door referendum. If the referendum passes, I would hope as you do that not one person in the district takes an additional nickel until the district is on sound financial ground. In other words, pay off the debt and then talk about raises. What people like Clancy and I don't understand is all this whining and crying without action. Shaggy made a point of saying something like, "like minds vote the same". If that's the case, why don't seven of you like minded people get together and take over the school board? It would seem if the referendum fail that there are more people of your mindset than progressive, community minded people. YOu should be able to overthrow the board in the next election. I mean, isn't that what Shaggy indicates? If you don't run, you can continue to show up on anonymous web sites and talk about what you do and don't know, what you do and don't like and how you would but won't change it. That makes you worth nothing more than your opinion.
