Madison County Board Chairman cites this as one of his accomplishments: "Led the effort to repair and replace roadways and bridges in Madison County; and worked closely with community leaders and elected officials to keep existing jobs in Madison County and bring new jobs to the area, as demonstrated by the creation of and continued growth and expansion of the Gateway Commerce Center, which has brought thousands of permanent jobs, and thousands of construction jobs, to the county."
Is this true?
I had heard that most of the warehouse jobs were moderately paying temp jobs.
Anyway, the County Board has approved the new creation of "Discovery Enterprise Zone" which will include six municipalities: Highland, Troy, St. Jacob, Maryville, Glen Carbon and Collinsville.
