I don't believe I am better than anyone else. I am just as guilty as apparently countless others are using Terrace Lane as my cut thru to Pontoon Rd. Given where I live, if they choose to make Terrace Lane a dead end or one way street, I will now have to use Wabash Avenue or Johnson Road as my access to Pontoon Rd. Now if I lived around Wilson Park, I would most defintely use North St. to access Pontoon Rd., but I don't. I choose to use Terrace Lane.

Many have avoided using Nameoki Rd., Johnson Rd. or Wabash due to the numerous stops, stop lights and/or traffic. Until recent years, Terrace Lane was the least congested way to get from point A to point B.

I for one have only used the Westmoreland area as a cut thru, but by force not my own. Not even when our children were younger playing ball at Worthen Park did I use their roads to go home as a cut thru. Given the traffic when ball games get over, many times I probably should have gone that route but didn't.

If my memory serves me, I beleive there was a little bruhaha a few years back over making one of the streets out there one way, because of the cut thru traffic. So, why should it be any different for the Terrace Lane people? Same difference. There are one-way streets all over the park area. Do we or did we complain when that happened?

If these residents have a legitimate concern, I feel it should be addressed. End of Story. Even if it means I too have to find alternate route to get from Point A to Point B. If I am willing others should be also.

I'm saying I understand where dhk is coming from. He or she is the only one from that area that has spoke up. He or she can't be the only one concerned.

All areas of this town has expereinced inconveniences due to street/road construction and it has been to the betterment of the community. But for that shift of traffic to become permanent, just isn't right.

When I first say the comments I felt guilty of doing what they were complaining of. At least I haven't driven thru anyone's yard though.

It's hard to be judgemental in situations like this if you don't live there and have it affecting your everyday life. If I can be open minded to their dilemma and be willing to change my driving habits, why can't others?

Maybe if the abuse where to cease, there wouldn't be any need to make traffic changes in that area?
