I suppose I need to take my complaints to the mayor and the Inspection Department.

That would make sense if the ownership doesn't live in the city in which they operate a business. Meaning, that is why they don't seem to take much pride in the aesthetics of the complex.

Has anyone noticed the old Floral Essence Shop across from Maryland Manor? It seems that building has become a residence, which is fine, but the porch has been cluttered with junk for a couple of months now. Another "eyesore"!

It is the detail stuff that sets Granite City apart from different communities. That is our biggest enemy at times. I have been born and raised in this community and think we are moving in the right direction. We just lack the attention to detail that in my mind goes along way in the eyes of people who visit our town. When I talk about detail I mean at times simple stuff. For instance, the street sign on the corner of State and Niedringhaus has been bent sideways for about a month now.

I still think our administration is doing a great job but in order to take things to the next level we have to be on top of the detail stuff too.
