I was away in the military in 82 but remember the stories and pictures from back home. What about the one in 77-78? At midnight there was no snow on the ground, I remember seeing lightning and hearing thunder that night and my dad waking me up at 5:30 to take him to work because he couldn't get his car out.
This was in East Alton, if I remember right it was 20 inches of snow before it was over. Or as my dad said while cussing the weatherman who predicted little or no accumulation...A**hole deep in flurries!!!
