Maybe, maybe not. The arguement some have, is that these studies ONLY include the St. Louis City, and not all it's outlining cities such as Kirkwood, St. Charles, etc. Most cities include their neighborhoods as in city limits. Some say this skews the results.
To me, either way it's not good. When I was in Portland, very rarely did you hear of a gunshooting, and when my Uncle was here from Denver, after the third night of news, he expressed his shock at how many shootings there were. There is rarely a night when a shooting or other voilent attack isn't covered on the news. So, regardless of what the study does or doesn't cover, I say it's not good.
