These two aren't from Granite City APA, but they are desperately needing a home. They are both great dogs that have just been over looked for quite a while.
Sonny is a 2 year old Pit Bull, who is a very smart, sweetheart of a guy! Since then he has been bounced around 7 different kennels/foster homes through no fault of his own and is about to end up in the kennels again if we can't find him a foster or forever home. He also has his own FB page (Sonny - The Pit Bull) Also, Pets In the City has offered to pay his adoption fee, so this is not only a great dog, but he's free!
The other boy is Boomer at Metro East Humane Society. He is a 2 yr old Spaniel Mix and a perfect gentleman. He was rescued from the pound before D-Day. Boomer has been at the shelter longer than any of the other dogs, which is very puzzling. He has basic commands down (sit, working on stay, come, walks well the leash). I'll be going up there again today to work with him some more. If he doesn't find a home soon, they may have to call a rescue group. Here is his Petfinder's profile.
Even if you're not looking for a dog this season, please help spread the word on these very special boys and let's see if we can get them into a forever home by Christmas. That would be the best gift anyone could get me this year.
