Very nice Christmas Parade once again; and there was such a great turnout! However, what's the deal with people bringing their dogs to parades, fireworks, carnivals, wherever they go? Most dogs don't like loud noises, i.e. loud horns, sirens, crowds cheering, many people most of whom are strangers, etc. all of which can be expected at such events. Therefore, the dogs are barking like crazy, owners are tugging on their leashes and yelling at them to be quiet, many of the dogs I saw had to be restrained from trying to go after vehicles in the parade and walking characters, and even the kids. What if one would have gotten loose from their owner and bit a child or someone else or had gotten hit by one of the vehicles. And then I saw people paying more attention to trying to control their dogs and leaving their small children unattended. I even saw a very small child (probably under 2) get away from her parents and was running up a side street away from the parade and another adult watching the parade had to call it to the parents's attention. By the way, the parents were handling 2 dogs who were having a very hard time being controlled. What are people thinking? I really don't understand this; do you?
