Blues Slipping and do we deserve the Rams? Archived Message

It looked like it would be the beginning of an incredible year.

Are the injuries going to put them in an irreversible funk? Or are they going to get out of it and still contend?

It's good to see both the Rams and the Blues be competitive teams again. Sometimes it takes a few years at the bottom and in the middle to get their game plan together to be winning teams again.

It's just good to see that they're not the small market whipping boys of their league.

I hear the Blues draw attendance quite well, up around number 7 in the league.

The Cardinals, of course, always punch above their weight class and are in the top 3 or 4 drawing teams every year. They are up there with NY or LA teams. Some could blame that on smaller stadiums in Boston and Chicago - but hey for the 21st largest market to draw like that for 80 home games? That's incredible.

But my last question before I go... Does St. Louis really deserve the Rams?

I mean we haven't formed that attachment to the team that we are willing to support them and good times and bad. WE can't seem to fill the Jones dome, and if you have teams with real fans coming to town like the Steelers or the Bears..well they will actually take over and make it a home game for the opposing team.

That's a real embarrassment for St. Louis. I can see something like that say if Oakland were visiting San Diego or Miami was visiting Jacksonville...but a house in St. Louis sometimes becomes friendly to the enemy?

Maybe LA deserves to have their Rams back.

I am happy they are going back to their winning ways and all, but if St. Louis can get rated from time to time as best Sports city - then how do we allow ourselves to concede the dome to the enemy?

Of course, you gotta understand, I would rather complain of a blackout, and probably not spend so much on a ticket. I admit I would rather save up for a game at Busch...so I guess I"m part of the problem. I'm one of the reasons that maybe the Rams ought to go back to market number 2.
