Donald Trump has called for six Democratic politicians who urged members of the armed forces to refuse illegal orders to face the death penalty.

The US president reposted a news story about a video released by a group of Democratic veterans, in which they warned that threats to the Constitution came “from right here at home”.

“SEDITIOUS BEHAVIOUR, punishable by DEATH!” the Republican president wrote in a Truth Social post on Thursday.
