At that time it becomes easy for them as they just do what they always do and just take the opposite position.

If he decides to take out a few critical nuclear positions in Iran they may secretly approve of that but will instantly blame him for any fallout. Or they may prefer if he pulls back but will instantly blame him if Iran does get a nuclear bomb, or if something else goes south in this conflict.
