These failed schools were overwhelmingly in Chicago. The 24 schools with zero reading proficiency spent from $16,217 per student to $93,787 per student. So the unions lie through their teeth when they demand more money. It makes no difference. In fact, the more money we have given public education, the worse job they have done for forty years.
