I noticed in one of the city elected offices, there was no candidate. Paging down, all throughout the county, there were many positions that had no candidates.
What happens to those positions? When no one is elected, does the board or the executive hire or appoint someone to fill the vacancy? Or does the position remain vacant.
For all who won their respective elections, congratulations.
My candidate for mayor in my locale lost. Dammit. But that's okay, the other guy is not that bad.
It's nice to have elections where even the guy you didn't vote for has a chance to still be a decent public servant.
