St. Louis is following the Chicago model of self destruction. The good news is that the City’s population is now so small that Missouri is reliably Red, unlike Illinois. The solution is for Missouri Republicans to allow St. Louis to fail and declare bankruptcy. This will enable a State-supplied workout manager to invalidate political decisions, contracts, cut budgets, and restore fiscal sanity, similar to what was done in Detroit.
