It turns out the conversation went like this.
Hey Don, as long as we are at this funeral, can I ask you a favor?
Sure Barry, anything but giving your wife a job.
Oh no, Don she doesn't want to work. You know, it can be too long before we are here for Joe. Now I know Dr. Jill may ask me to offer the eulogy but I'm a little uncomfortable.
What are you talking about Barry? You're one of the best speakers around. No one has ever seen or heard anything like you in the history of the world. Why can't you do it for Joe?
Well Don, I feel like I buried him once when I got him to drop out and I'm afraid if I get up there and try to speak nicely, lightning may strike. We'll be in church you know.
Well Barry, if I'm asked, I can offer a few words on his behalf. I can say that I'm the happiest person in the world that Barry pulled Joe out and put in that lady in the front row who keeps glaring at us.
Hey Don, we're having a nice conversation so don't rub it in that many democrats now feel I caused us to lose when I put her in. You know Don, when they're the last woman in the bar, you have to take them home.
Barry, we could be as friendly as Ford and Carter someday. People will finally figure out that we are all in this together and it's never about them. Time to pray Barry.
