The people who will care are those who voted for Trump because of their view of the economy, specifically grocery prices and the notion that under Trump prices will quickly go down dramatically and they will be much better off financially. Those are the voters that put him over the top and they, as you said 3Dee,are no longer useful to him.

People who face little hope with the current status will often vote for any hope of change. They knew they were screwed with "I wouldn't change a thing" Kamala, so they crossed over to a new hope.
