I don't think Trump is too concerned about money, he doesn't even take a salary, he donated it in the past and will do so again. Joe's 10-year far-reaching pardon was pretty wise thinking for someone with his advanced dementia. By pardoning Hunter in the process he saves his own ass on some of those shady influence-peddling deals his son and brother brokered.

As to whether Trump would do the same thing, perhaps he would, but I have to say that's a pretty shaky defense of what Joe did do. The Trump would do it also defense I guess you can call it.
