Construction is underway on several broadband expansion projects in the area. The work will bring gigabit fiber-optic network Spectrum service to more than 1,150 homes and small businesses in Jefferson, St. Francois and Ste. Genevieve Counties.

The work is part of Spectrum’s nearly $5 billion investment in unserved rural areas. The investment includes $1.2 billion won in the FCC’s Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) auction. The FCC estimates the expansion will provide broadband access to nearly 1 million customer locations across 24 states.
