Critical thinking does not exist, and people are paid millions to keep the hate alive. (Levin, Hannity, and Tucker are three names that come to mind. I don't guess we have to worry about Maddow or a scant handful that might keep hate alive in the other direction..)
Also too, the certified winner of the election at the top of the ticket thrives under hate and division. I would have given anything to see someone else besides the one the hijacked the Republican party.
Not being so Republican minded myself, I still would like to think I respect Republicans enough to think that the person who hijacked their party is not a true Republican.
But yeah, I can unify with Republicans who truly love their nation. Hundreds of them had the courage to try to save their party from Trump. Too many cowards in the party wouldn't utter a peep, and were looking out for their careers, and decided to support Trump or decided not to say a word at all.
I believe in uniting....I am just not sure if Trump can do a 180 and be worthy of being someone that anyone can unite behind. I don't think Trump has the best interests of anyone at heart except Trumpself.
Those days of honorable second place finishers like John McCain....would have been easy to unite behind someone like that.
I hope Real Republicans and not these RINO Trump sycophants will be able to take back their party and bring it to something of honorable and noble purpose.
It's hard to buy into conservativism.....but being actually center-left and not full on left.... it would not be hard to accept someone who is center-right and find the common ground in the center.
The thing about Trump that many don't get is that he's not right or left.
He's 'totally other' and off the spectrum.
Conservativism may point governance to loyalty of the old order, they would be strict constitutionalists. Liberalism is more about the people and lifting up of the people, perhaps challenging the old order at times.
Trumpism is in it's own little field, it obliterates the old order and really in itself is a disorder unto itself. That's where decent Republicans were able to find the center-left common ground and go to the Democrats in hopes of salvaging their party. That's why anyone who worked for Trump in his first administration bailed! That's why Mike Pence was nowhere to be found.
Trumpism is not something I can unite behind even if I tried and I hope patriotic Americans, who favor any order or the Constitution itself will also resist the mandate of Trumpism. It won't be long before voters realize......this is what they voted for! Ouch!
If you could reason with MAGA, there would be no MAGA.
