He never did any thing to me. I had custody of my radio and besides, I was always working when his show was on, so he didn't have a chance to get in my mind.
I think he was a pioneer and even funny sometimes. I didn't agree with his message, and it wasn't ever really given a chance to ruminate within.
I knew how to turn off the radio or change the station.
I have a respect for the guy. I figure these carnival barkers are only as good as people allow for them to be.
How people fall for it is another matter.
But still, I watched his story and while never a consumer of his wares, his method of selling them was unique.
It's wierd like that. What he did to talk radio was disastrous and the collective IQ of talk radio dropped like a lead balloon. There is almost no talk radio left that actually feeds the brain.
He ushered in brain dead radio and gave rise to fellow dropouts Sean Hannity and Glenn Beck....and pissed off Kermit the Frog (aka Mark Levin) and Mr. I think I'm intellectual, Ben Shapiro.
Yet in spite of all of that, I respect the guy...and he'll be right there for anyone that wants to make the short drive to pay respects.
When you ban books before you ban guns, you've admitted that you're more afraid of children learning than you are of children dying.
