My comment on Mr. Cohen’s post in the public Facebook group is below:
“Hi Mr. Cohen. In the future, I wouldn’t stick anything to anyone’s property...like you did using scotch tape on my brand new screen door. That doesn’t leave a good taste in the mouths of folks who you want to vote for you.”
It’s obvious that you didn’t appreciate my fairly direct and what I considered respectful response to Mr. Cohen. I didn’t feel I was mean or hateful like some folks have been. I just feel that after having many folks tell him not to tape things to peoples’ doors and him continuing to do it, he needed to be told what impact that would have on his candidacy. A major issue that he and several other candidates have talked about is citizens taking care of their homes and property. And it really irked me to say the least that my wife and I just bought another home here and have spent thousands of dollars on renovations there by investing in our community, only to have a mayoral candidate stick garbage to my screen door. I don’t think I’m out of line to be ticked off and to share that frustration, but apparently to you (and perhaps others) I am.
If you judge me solely based on my letting a candidate know something they shouldn’t do, there isn’t much I can do about it. I’m not here to insult and I didn’t insult Mr. Cohen no matter how I felt/feel about his candidacy...I’m just here be visible and responsive as I’ve always vowed to do as a political leader. If you’d like to talk, feel free to call me.
Thanks,
Matt
