Ravanelli's is in their second generation. They too tried to get too big too fast. They changed the menu here in GC and the business suffered. The bbq part of the business made it evident they were struggling. I told Mrs. O. when they started the "hog trough" buffet that they were catering to the wrong crowd . They also lost the Shiloh business a few years ago.
Hudson's? Well let's just say that their prices were set more for an upper crust patron. The last item I bought there was a "tennis bracelet" for Mrs. O. and it was $1800.00. Not too many people in GC are going to lay that type of dough out.
Our community is changing. We are now more the Burger King and Wal Mart jewelry counter type of demographic.
I won't be one to go to the Collinsville Ravanelli's. Loyalty is a two way street. I can't hurt Glik's business because I never bought anything there anyway. As for Hudson's? Mrs. O. is past wearing expensive jewelry. LOL
they did not fail, because they did what their country asked of them....
