Amy Elik took down Monica Bristow and the Madigan Machine in convincing fashion and will be our new state representative in the 111th district!
Kurt Prenzler was re-elected as County Board Chairman. Tom McRae was elected Circuit Clerk. Tom Haine was elected State’s Attorney. David Michael was elected County Auditor. Amy Maher and Steve Stobbs were elected Circuit Judge.
We not only maintained our majority on the County Board, we actually picked up 3 seats, which will bring our majority to 18-11! Congrats to Bill Meyer (Hamel), who is coming back to the board, Erica Harriss (Glen Carbon) on her re-election, and Heather Mueller-Jones (Maryville) on winning the seat she was recently appointed to. Congrats to Stacey Pace (Troy) and Bobby Ross (St. Jacob) on their big wins and hanging on to seats previously held by Don Moore and David Michael. We also welcome and congratulate Denise Wiehardt (Granite City), Aaron Messner (Granite City) and Ryan Kneedler (Collinsville) for their victories, winning new seats for Republicans on the board!
It was an incredible night, and a clear sign that the voters overwhelmingly trust Republicans to be in charge of county government, and our message of lower taxes, transparency, accountability and support for law enforcement clearly resonated. Thank you to all the voters in Madison County!
The policy of the American government is to leave their citizens free, neither restraining nor aiding them in their pursuits. -Thomas Jefferson
