I think you have a good view of it
Here is my thoughts with the meeting less than 12 hours away
A couple things to consider, this is really about very little
If a business is regulated by the state, they might want to use extra consideration before opening, their state license could be suspended or revoked.
The idfpr (Illinois Dept of financial and professional regulatory oversees 133 licenses themselves....
Daycares, barbers, beauticians, bar/restaurant (liquor licenses) and many more are overseen by various state regulators.
How does a business submit sales tax to the state, when they are supposed to be closed? Guessing the state looks the other way to collect, but just a question I have...
This is set up to make people pick sides, do you support small business or not. Even though most will not open regardless when they read the fine print and ask for legal advice. That’s my opinion...
The other big issue is insurance, will your business liability insurance cover a claim when the state has ordered the closure....
Things continue to change, things agreed to one day seem to mysteriously change the next, one group says it’s not a big deal. Why did It change then.....
I negotiate contracts for a living, you can not change what was agreed to because you want to. A person should take it back and say. Hey, we feel this needs to change and this is why....
I have moved to unknown as to how I will vote for the reasons above..... I am still confident it will pass. I am pretty sure there will be Democratic votes for it. I am sure there will be a handful (maybe) vote against it, mainly for the reasons stated above.
Just doesn’t seem as many would support it as what I thought Originally.
