Re: Youth baseball players needed
I get that the girls at a younger age playing softball from a pitching machine isnt baseball. They spent more time fixing their hair and grabbing at my scorebook to try to see when they bat than worrying about who was winning. I coached boys baseball in the past, when select teams were not really a thing yet. You can do a little bit with 7 and 8 olds, even more with 9 year olds but not much more in many cases. I felt like a baby sitter with the boys sometimes more than with the girls. Maybe it is a good idea to seperate the ones that really want to play and get better from the ones who just want to mess around, i just dont know if that is the right age group. I had mothers tell me these girls are rolling you and they would just laugh. I just think that 11 or 12 might be a better age to expect a little more from them, but thats just my opinion.
