Nope, I won't defend Schiff on that, I thought it was stupid at the time and I still think if was a stupid thing to say.

I certainly don't think he should be charged with treason for it, as Trump suggested. I don't think Trump really knows what treason is.

Schiff intended this as a parody, and in my opinion, a dramatic way to describe Trumps actions... it fell flat and he should have known better.

I don't think anyone believes that he was attempting to fool anyone into thinking those were Trump's exact words. Still, I agree it was stupid.
