Kent' leaned forward on every answer as if he was ready to pounce ( or possibly already knew the questions) The ambassador kept his composure even when grilled by the one sided GOP. Kent, at one point became frustrated and lectured one senator saying, "that's your constitutional duty", not mine.
Taylor was very up front by saying, " I never heard anything directly from the President or the President of Ukraine." "I'm here to tell you what I heard from a friend who heard it from a friend who heard it from his cousin." That's a laugher.
And not to play spoiler since you're still watching the tape, neither witness could answer the question, " did anything you HEAR constitute an impeachable defense. Neither answered.
This Kent guy, in a normal court of law, would have been eaten alive by anyone who ever practiced cross examination. You could have tripped him like a land mine.
Do I believe there was an effort by Trump to dig up dirt? Hell yes. Do I believe that has gone on forever in D.C.? Oh hell yes. These guys and gals play at a level you and I couldn't think about. Their power is such an aphrodisiac that they would say and do anything to maintain it.
Please tell me that someone of your obvious intellect sees this (and most other House hearings as nothing more than must see t.v.) Nothing ever comes from them except arguments among the differing opinions.
And yes, if this trial was held in a true public hearing, the whistle blower would be forced to go through cross examination or not be allowed to testify period. Under the "law" the accused have a right to face their accuser. You know that of course.
