Thank you for understanding the choices your family member made to be a special type of person. Thank you for enduring the time they spent away from you. Thank you for enduring the sick feeling you got each time the phone rang while your family member was in a combat zone. Thank you for working through the post service trauma that your family member might go through.
Most importantly, thank you to the mother's, fathers, daughters, brothers, sisters and sons who saw your relative leave and never return to you. No one knows the pain you felt when the service car pulled up out front or when you read those lines, "we regret to inform you".... Your sacrifice goes beyond understanding. We salute you and please know that the streets of heaven are lined and patrolled by that special fraternity of those who paid the ultimate price for freedom.
