I think many of us would agree that Granite has gone downhill over the past couple of decades with all the job losses created when industry chose to leave the area leaving a population with little to look forward to. There are many causes for this but one can appreciate the hostile attitude to employers at the Madison County Plaintiff friendly court system that has led to the area having some of the highest workman's compensation and liability insurance rates in the nation, the high tax rates and without going into detail the overall negative business climate in Illinois. So, pondering on this, are the landlord's at fault or are the landlord's merely acting within the ramifications of the deck they have been dealt?
Some might say that the initial forays into problematical tenants was started by the Government when the KP project was instituted.
Perhaps this is the end result brought upon us by the elected officials who were duly elected by the people meaning Granite's current plight is the will of the people who have gotten what they asked for and are unhappy with the bed they have made for themselves.
