The springs control ride height; standard shocks dampen the action and don't affect ride height.
If they have "metalastick" bushes in the end, and you tightened things up while the suspension was unloaded (in full droop), you could loosen them up and let the car down & let the weight settle the suspension, then tighten them up.
Give that a shot and post results.

Since the rear shock absorbers upper mount rusted out, I got the conversion kit from Rimmers Bros. now the upper mount is bolted on to the chassis. My question is, I noticed that the rear seems a bit higher and now I have positive camber. Is that what really happens or am I imaging it. LOL
