I live in Delaware and every two years my '72 has to go through emission test. UGh!
Sorry. Delaware is indeed one of the few remaining states with an ethanol mandate. I am sorry you have to deal with the emissions testing also.
I am almost embarrassed to say that in NC (where I live) they have a technology cut off and a rolling date cut off for inspections.
New cars have no emissions testing for the first 3 years. They only get a safety inspection.
After the car is 3 years old they carry out OBD2 testing for emissions and a safety inspection.
If your car is old enough to have ODB1 you only have a safety inspection.
If your car is over 35 years old there are no inspections at all.
