My friend bought this to be a unique around-town car for his wife. While he has owned Heralds in the past he was always more of a TR6 and Spitfire guy. At the moment he's got three TR6s in various states of repair, a couple of Spitfires, and a Hunter. That doesn't even begin to include his collection of parts cars or his modern cars. He is my go-to source for used Triumph parts when I couldn't wait for shipping and new parts were not necessary.

Shoe misalignment (often due to bent backing plates), mis-matching drum & shoe arcs, & sticking sliders are probably the most common mechanical problems that I run into on drum brakes.
Glad you got it sorted, the Heralds are pretty cool.
Back in the 70s I had a beater Herald, I used it mainly for just screwing around off-road in the savannas areas before development.
I beat on it hard & I couldn't kill that thing, I wound up breaking it for parts...
