Fortunately where I live cars like the GT6 are considered "antique" without requiring a special registration. Starting about a decade ago they decided such old cars did not require any inspection... emissions or safety.
Regardless, you may have to re-tune your carbs to be a bit leaner and repeat the test. A bit of Googling and you should find other tuning tweaks to get your car to pass. Just keep in mind that these changes don't have to be forever.

Yesterday, DMV failed 2 items on my GT 6. Emission was 732 hc (limit Is 600) and headlights. The stupid guy said my dim and bright were the same. I told him no way but he did not believe me. I went back later and a different guy passed the headlights but emission stills failed much higher at 1200 hc. What the hell!
