All in all, the buyer got a very decent running car that looks very nice for a driver. My only concern is that the new owner seems a bit naive about where to spend money on the car. However, it is his now and where to spend money and effort is his decision, not mine.
May he and his son enjoy the car for a decade or more like we did.

: Since the car was not being driven
: regularly, it was a good idea to sell
: it. 34 yrs ago, I almost sold my GT6.
: The buyer was coming over with cash
: after test driving it but I changed my
: mind. I told him I did not have the

: Sold today. I got within $50 of what I
: was asking so I am pleased.

: We bought this car about 9 years ago as
: a non-running father and son project.
: The new owner wanted basically the same
: thing... except he was at least able to
: test drive the car before buying.

: It is time to pass our Spitfire along
: to
: someone else who will take care of it.
: The car only gets driven about once a
: month these days. I hope to find a
: young, hands-on buyer willing to work
: on the car themselves.

: My older son who drove this car for
: about 7 or 8 years is already depressed
: that it is for sale.
