Aside from my intense dislike of things VW (it goes back to the concept), I can appreciate why folks race them. Mike shut me up years ago by putting me in Sandys Beach for a few weekends, wow some kind of fun!!!
Working this week on Mikes new CR gearbox, so we can get the red TR back in action.

: I'm sorry I missed your friend's race.
: There was a red TR3 near us in the
: paddock so I should have remembered to
: look for your friend.
:
: Mike J. knows this was my FIL's last
: race. We also let the other drivers
: know that the car was going to be for
: sale as a "must buy all"
: package including the trailer and
: spares. I would consider this Vee to
: be a good learner car for a new driver
: and I think that's how my FIL would
: like to sell it. Rebuilding it from
: scratch to be truly competitive would
: probably be cost prohibitive. The
: other issue is that this is a Lynx-B
: which requires a smaller (narrower)
: driver than most the other styles of
: Vee. That might be ideal for a young
: person who hasn't put too many pounds
: on yet.

: The white TR-3 did well, beat his
: personal best time by a good bit, but
: in the feature race he got passed on
: the last lap coming on to the front
: straight, a Morgan beat him to the flag
: for a class win by .035ish seconds.
: Yes from all reports the weather
: sucked!
: Glad your FIL had a good weekend. If
: the V goes on the market, let Mike
: Jackson (red TR-3/FV guy, runs VDCA)
: know about it, very strong vintage V
: contingent down here.
