So,... Dan and I aren't the only T50 masochists. Welcome!
See if you can find the 90 degree drive for Cressida (it's actually around 70 degrees). I also have one for sale as well.
However, I can't vouch for whether it will work. The guy that cut my bell housing plate was about 10 degrees off. So the tranny leans to the right and that rendered any chance of using the speedo adapter - zero.
I (and Dan) have drilled holes in the chassis to route the cable through. You can drill it to pass the smaller Triumph collet (with some wiggle room for torquing of course). This will reduce the size of the hole needed - just feed the Triumph end through from the "inside" of the chassis rail and pull the whole thing through.
BTW: Have you cut the cross member and welded it in yet? Make sure the "Horns" point forward! (Another mistake - sigh)
You can call me any time with questions 904-386-6139. Dan frequents this site regularly as well. He may have designed the mod, but "I" have explored EVERY possible problem!

: Hi. Can someone recommend a set of brake
: pads for the street for a GT6. Whatever
: I have in there now just don't stop
: well. Pretty sure bias is close to
: correct but just not getting much
: stopping up front. Takes alot of foot
: power.
: Also: For those of you who have put a
: Toyota T50 trans. in your GT6, how does
: the speedo cable clear the frame where
: it exits the transmission. Mine is so
: close that it has a sharp bend which
: has caused the cable to break. I was
: considering a right angle drive mech.
: but wanted to check in here first..
