Just to update you all: It was a classic case of operator error. After pulling the engine and disassembling I found number 6 oil rings were not installed correctly. The spring tensionor had the red and green ends overlapping each other instead of side by side. I was super careful not to do that when I assembled the pistons and rings so I'm leaning toward it happening when I used the ring compressor. Hopefully I can do it right this time around.
