I cannot answer all your questions.
I believe that the Mk2 started using a cylinder head based on the same casting as the TR6 but shaved in height (others will have to confirm when this changed). The Mk1 GT6 head has intake/exhaust ports that appear in a straight line across the "right" side of the head while the TR6 style head uses staggered ports where the intake and exhaust ports are not inline with each other. Therefore, you will not be able to use Mk1 intake/exhaust manifolds on a later head and vise versa.
However, I think you could put a complete Mk2 head with its manifolds on the Mk1 block or a Mk1 head and manifolds on a Mk2 block.
