The embarrassing thing is that I rebuilt this engine last year. I have no one to blame for the leaky galley plug but myself. Fortunately it was easily found and only required removing the components off the back of the engine.
I do have a remaining question. When I took the galley plug out it was "straight" and appeared to be threaded 20 TPI. I have been told on The British Car Forum that the plug should have been 1/4" pipe. The block in this car is not original and could have been modified so I don't know what is correct. Do any of you have an old GT6 or TR6 block lying around that you could check? This is the horizontal galley plug on the main galley just next to the cam core plug.
