Link: S2 Cam Spreadsheet
Don't worry. I am getting your emails, it just takes me a while to respond these days.
I sent Ted an Excel spreadsheet I made from S2 cam measurements I collected. I think I pissed him off as he has never replied.
The link below is to that spreadsheet. I found the data interesting and helpful when trying to understand what the S2 cam is doing.

Basically, I found the term "checking clearance" misleading. What was really happening was the #1 intake lobe was showing 0.013" of lift at the 31 BTDC point. I guess if you had the head on and the rockers were the right ratio that might equate to 0.001" of valve clearance. However, my engine's head was not installed so all my measurements were taken strictly off the cam lobes.

: Hi Guys,
:
: The .013" valve clearance is a
: "cold" setting isn't it? So
: after the pushrods and valve stems heat
: up and expand, doesn't that value
: reduce toward zero?
:
: If so, then having an initial
: .001" intake cam lift occur at 31
: degrees (as Doug supposed) could make
: sense. The mechanical
: "slack" would mostly be gone
: in a "warm" engine.
:
: Or do I need to change to different
: hallucinogen?
:
: Great discussion - as always.
:
: Hey Doug - you haven't
: "un-spammed" my email status
: yet! - lol
