I did fit a new front seal and installed a Speedi-Sleeve on the spacer between the timing gear and the crank pulley. I mentioned in another thread that I had fit a duplex timing chain and sprockets (TR6 parts) during the engine rebuild. To keep the timing chain from hitting the oil slinger I made a 0.030" spacer/shim to move the slinger "forward" towards the pulley. Witness marks on the spacer indicated that the inner lip of the front seal was hitting the start of the spacer's chamfer, not its smooth OD. The Speedi-Sleeve should move that contact area back onto a cylindrical contact surface.
Unfortunately, it is too darn hot to consider driving the GT6 around a lot to see if the leak is gone. I'll report that in a future update to this thread once the weather cools down. For now all I can say is that I suspect the leak was caused by me and my 0.030" thick shim for the slinger.
